    Senator Kennedy

I'm posting this, mostly because I've always had a fascination with this family.

To be quite honest, John is the one I idolize of the three brothers. He did so much in such a short time. God only knows what Robert would have done if he lived.

That said, despite my misgivings toward Edward, I feel now that he was one hell of a statesman. He had to live up to what his brothers' legacy.

In tribute, I am going to quote U2. It's a song about Martin Luther King, Jr., but it's fitting.

    EMK

    Sleep
    Sleep tonight
    May your dreams
    Be realised
    If the thundercloud
    Passes rain
    May it rain
    Down on you

    Sleep
    Sleep tonight
    May your dreams
    Be realised
    If the thundercloud
    Passes rain
    Passes rain
    Down on you

    Edward
    May it be
    Oh may it be
    Difference you have made
    If the thundercloud
    Passes rain
    Oh let it rain
    Down on you

    Riddles

    Riddles

    I look into the eye
    I see destruction
    I see death among you
    But I will not act
    Let it play out

    Let it play out
    I'm just an observer
    I only give advice
    In riddles and words

    Riddles and worse
    They are among us now
    Signs and portents
    Death is around us
Yet I stand and do not fight

    They have seen my face
    So I must sacrifice myself
    A violent death
    From submission

    (Yes)
    (Go)
    (You have always been here)

    Voices (Bester's Song)

    (racing in my mind)
    (Static)
    (You're over here)
    Static

    Beware
    Be aware
    Of the voices in
    Your head
    You'll wind up dead!

    I pursue you
You have no place to hide
    The Corps is mother
    The Corps father.
No place to hide from us
    In the mundane

I feel that we're all special
That we all have our role
My role is to spread fear
    Amongst the mundane
    Of your "powers"

    The seed is planted
I now know all of your moves
And when I let you go
    I'll let you remember
    Your personal hell

    Mundane
I used you to root out
Those who want to kill what I am.

I take pleasure in watching you suffer
    Simply because you're beneath me.
    Mundane.

    The Book Of G'Kar

    From the Book of G'Kar:

A dark age has come upon us
I thought that peace would finally come, however
    It did not.
I remember my days on Babylon 5, where
At times I thought that peace would come to pass.
My utter hatred toward the Centauri blinded me
To the point of no return.

I once plotted to kill the emperor of the Centauri race
On the day that he truly intended to give us peace
    Then he simply died

    G'Quan once wrote that
"The darkness comes upon us all. Recognize it,
    And seek out allies.
It is for the common good that we all must survive."

To describe this is simply an abomination. Destroyer of worlds.
Remember the humans. They are the ones who saved us all, along with the Minbari.

Oh have I suffered. I witnessed our world destroyed by the Centauri.
    Oh Homeworld.
I could not act to save her, but I acted to save us all from that madman.
    Oh how I suffered.

I was a distraction, nothing more. But I helped root out the evil of Centauri Prime.
    The root of evil.

    Great Maker!

    Great Maker
    "Great Maker!"
    --Centauri Londo Mollari
    What have I done?
    What have I done?
You are a destroyer of civilizations
I remember that I was touched by the Technomage Elric, as his people
    Left for the beyond
I had asked for an audience to
    Promote my own personal agenda
I had to apologize for offending him

When he left, I finally had the chance to speak to him
His words were so very true
I wish I would have heeded them, as it was my first
    Chance to redeem myself

    He told me,
That my hand would cross the stars, and that
I would hear voices calling my name famously.

    I asked him, "My followers?"
    He glowered. "Your victims."

When I went home to Centauri Prime
I found myself in the middle of
    A madman's court
    I was favored

    Little favors
    A little more
To show you what we can do
    Is what I offer you
    Call me Mr. Morden

When the worlds are wiped out
    I stand proud
But there's one thing I forget
Is that the darkness has captured
    Centauri Prime

    (I am the evil that's what's left)

    Prophecy

    Prophecy

    "in Valen's name."
    --Minbari  saying
    I. The One

    The One who was
    The one who is
    The One who will become
    The One
    Who defines the future
I one who writes the history
But how can one write the history
    Unless you live it
    (unless you have traveled)
Through space and time I have
    Seen the future
Seen how it all be gan

    Darkness falls
    The war machine is
    On the arise again
    I must go
    And teach them what they
    Must know what is coming

    Worker
    Religious
    Warrior

    II. The Builder

I am the worker, the one
    Who builds the foundation
    Of a society
The foundation of hope and truth
I build it all from scratch
    The homes, the schools
I do it in Valen's name
I do what you ask, and it is just so
    In Valen's name

    III. Believe

    What is past is prologue
    We must act now
    To prevent the darkness
    From Overcoming
    Wait for the sign

    IV. Warrior

Satai, you brought us to this
    When Dukhat died
    Religious zeal started this war
    You must now choose

    V. Revelation

I never thought that we would
    Kill ourselves
    In a useless war
They fought bravely on what is known as
    The Battle Of the Line
Desparate and hopeless, they do not know
When the Grey Council saw why
    We surrendred.
The humans do not know why they survive
    In Valen's Name

    Fate Of The Universe

    Fate Of The Universe

In the beginning of time, The First Ones came to be

They seeded countless worlds with life

Each world suffered and prospered through time

Discoveries made to benefit them, and to hinder them

Culture was developed through words of their Prophets

    Technology prospered. Ideas prospered.

    But in the end,

It all came down to fundimental truth…

    Rock N' Roll Getaway

I saw this article this morning on MSN, and I was totally blown away by it.

Basically, if I won the lottery, this thing would be on my bucket list (yes, I'm young, but hey, might as well create one Baring teeth)

They've got all sorts of "camps" for sports, and other types of camps. Why not go to one that lets you be a rock star for a week?

I'll let you peruse the site, as I can't do it justice.

    Fun Reading

I've been doing a lot of reading as of late, mostly because I bought a ton of books over the last year or so, but always came home to watch TV or play games.

I got rid of cable (as perhaps many people have; nice to have, but not worth it), and turned back to reading books. I get may news via the net, or radio, or just old fashioned newspaper.

Anyhow, alt of the books I've read in the last two months have been Star Wars books. Many I've never read before, because for a time, I thought the market got saturated, and some novels (or authors) I avoided.

The current one I'm reading is called Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover. It's a novel primarily about Mace Windu, and pretty much him finding the whereabouts of his Padawan.  In fact, with the exception of part of the first chapter, no one else from the movies (with the exception of mentions during the rest of the story) show up. The story takes place just as the Clone Wars begin after Geonosis, and it goes into the history of Mace, his lightsaber style, and his philosophy.

What is making this novel extremely enjoyable to me is I can hear Samuel Jackson's voice, picture him doing things, and Stover does an awesome job of bring out the more intense Jackson we've known for years (see Jules Winfield), the bad-ass Jackson that comes to kick butt, or to do something to prove a point.

The closest we see Mace Windu like this on screen really was Geonosis. But if you liked Sam's portrayal there, you'll like this book.

The story is great because it takes the "unlearn what you have learned" approach with the character, and it seems each time Mace figures out something and spits back the lessons he's learned to the other characters, they think he's crazy.

I'mnot done with it yet, but I should be by the end of the weekend. It's quite a fun read.

    Les Paul

Les Paul passed away on Thursday.

I've never owned a Les Paul guitar, but I've played on some. The neck is so supple, that it feels like you're playing on butter. Such an easy feel. There's no whammy bar, so it means if you want to bend a note and express yourself, you have to do it with your fingers, kiddies.

The following videos showcase pretty much all of my guitar heroes who play this instrument.

However, I'm going to show you the specs of my dream guitar first:

    Jimmy

    Paul

    Saul

    Joe

    Les

    Purr

    Purr

    Purr purr

    I sit in the window
    I look to you
    I hide under your desk
    Thunderstorm coming
    I hide

    She is just scared
    I pet her
    As the thunderstorms

    Rumbling

    Rain coming down lightly
I run away from your feet
I hide again my bells jingle
    Like a child you purr
Scared you are little one of the storm

    Hold me close
    I'm afraid
    Of the rain
    Coming down

    Thunder hits my soul
    As the rain comes down

    I purr at your feet
    Foot stroking me

    Purr purr
    As the rain comes down

Purr as I hear the wind and thunder
    And the rain
Purr as I feel your foot rub me down
    Assured.

    Purr as you go asleep
    I'll be there
    Purring

    You're rockin' the world
    If it's your own world
    You're rockin'
    She tells me to stop
    She tells me to go
    She tells me to rock
    She tells me to roll
    When you dig in deep
    And let your fingers bleed
    You're rockin
    You're rockin'
    Rock the world

    Black Beauty's callin'

    Oooh I'm rockin'

    Ooh we're rockin'
    Rockin'
    Go Angus go

    Play that sweet solo
    You know what I mean
    You're rockin' my world
    You're rockin' my world
    Rockin' my world
    Rockin' my world
    Rockin' my world

    Seattle Influences

It's nearly twenty years since "The Grunge Movement" came to be. I waa caught up in the middle of it when I was a buddin disc-jockey.

One of my funny moments I remember as I worked KOAR as a mass communications student in Vermillion, is I played Evenflow over Alive from Pearl Jam's Ten for some reason, when Alive was the song that was hitting the charts.

To be honest, I never got into Nirvana until I saw their accoustic thing on MTV. I was more into Soundgarden and Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains.

I'm going to post a small montage of videos from all of the bands; however, the first is a collaboration from Temple of the Dog.

    Hunger Strike

    River of Deciet

(Mad Season is a one shot band with Lane Staley and Mike McCready)

    Evenflow

    Heart Shaped Box

    Black

    Spoonman

    Daughter

    Better Man

    (Note::

Of the many concerts I have ever attended, if this song is piped, it seems to be a crowd favorite.)

    Rooster

    All Apologies

    Jeremy
