    Shedding The Skin

    Shedding The Skin

The time has come for me
    To shed my skin
    It's getting warm
    It'll be warm

    I know you're helping me
    But it hurts
    And I bite back
    But I know you're helping

    Your fingers work away
    Sometimes I love it
    Sometimes I hate it
    I bite back

    The Resurrection

    Well now.

I don't know if it's just because it's spring, but I decided on Memorial Day to take my guitar to the music shop to have her checked out.

For about $50, she got restrung, neck realigned, polished, and some of her more delicate parts checked out.

I bought her in Sioux City about ten years ago, and I took pretty good care of her for the most part by myself. However, when I lived in my parent's garage, elements took a toll (and considering my hard style of playing), things happen.

So I just decided to take her in, see what could be done. I was expecting to pay at least $100, but I paid half.

My horse looks and sounds wonderful. Her name is Black Beauty.

I'm not sure if it's a guy thing to name to name inanimate objects they love, but my guitar is named after a horse.

All I know is she sounds sweet, and we ride together again as a whole person for the first time in years.

    Memorium

    Memorium

    Dreaming
    Of a nation
    Forged in history
    You always fought for me
    Protected me

I am one who always wanted to serve
    But God wouldn't let me
    Because of my eyes
I am one of those who would
    Live and die for you

I bleed RED WHITE amd BLUE
I would do anything for you

Putting out fires is what I do
Catching the criminal is what I do
Healing you is what I do

    I'm a mixture of a man
    Forged from history
All I want is to love our country
    Sweet land of Liberty
    To thee I sing

    O say can you see
    By the dawn's early light?
    What so proudly we hailed
    In the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars?
    Through the perilious fight
    O'er ramparts we watched
    Were so gallantly streaming
    And the rockets red glare
    The bombs bursting in air
    Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
O say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave!

For our troops across the world, and for those who do their civic duty

    21st Century Breakdown Part I

First off, this album has an awesome Sid and Nancy-like backwash cover.

I've only listened to it fully once, but I've focused on some songs that just grabbed me.

First off, it's broken down into several acts.

    Act I: Heroes and Cons

21st Century Breakdown the song is like Baba O'Reilly in the sense that it kickstarts the album off with great lyrics and themes.

Know Your Enemy is basically American Idiot slowed down, and it's fun and catchy.

Before The Lobotamy reminds me of a combination of Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming both in a lyrical sense and musical sense in structure.

Christian's Inferno is something like if The Boss wrote something punk. It also has a very One Way Or Another influence.

Last Night On Earth is probably the song I like most from this album, which is why I posted the lyrics last week. To me, it's incredibly Beatles-influenced, lyrically, musically, and structure. I've figured it out on my guitar.

    There's a glimpse of Act I.

    The Walk

    I remember walking with you
    We walked a many mile
I remember when you walked me to school
You told me to look left and right
    To heed every stoplight
To find my way back home

    I remember when I didn't take heed
    Of you words

I took a shortcut and I didn't see it coming
Last thing I remember was me walking delirously
As I lay there I prayed
    Mother take the pain away

I only reemember the drip drops of the morphine
I felt it burn in my veins
    Take away my pain

I remember bits and pieces of conversations
Of sister wanted to be with me
I remember the birthday in the hospital
Pizza Hut was served pepperoni extra cheese please

I remember that day I called you from far away
It was 6pm to me, noon to you
I was in Edinburgh and I called to say
    Happy Birthday

    I love you so
    I miss you so
    I miss walking
    With you

In death you are stll with me
    Your spirit is with me
    You raised me right
    You taught me
    How to live

    I'll never let you go
    Never let you go
    Never let you go
    Never let go

Never let go of the memories

    Never
    Let go

    Last Night On Earth

    Last Night On Earth

    Green Day

I text a postcard, sent to you
    Did it get through?
Sending all my love to you
You are the moonlight of my life every night
Giving all my love to you
My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles until I found you
    I'm here to honor you
If I lose everything in the fire
I'm sending all my love to you

With every breath I am worth
    Here on Earth
I'm sending all my love to you
So if you dare to second guess
    You can rest assured
That all my love's for you

My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles until I found you
    I'm here to honor you

If I lose everything in the fire
Did I ever make it through?

    A Letter To My Mother

    Mother,

There are so many things that I wish you could experience with me, and I could use some advice.

There is a woman who I am fancy with. She has a daughter, but I don't know how I should ask her out for coffee, or lunch.

I will say this, she is very much like you. She is very religious and goes to church. When you went to see God,she told me to spend time with you, and not worry about the issue she had at work.

Valentine's Day is when I confessed to some co-workers about my feelings. I was shocked when she said some words the next day.

I would like to describe her.

    She is feisty, Like you.
    She is pretty. Like you.
    SHE IS MUCH LIKE YOU.
She has a daughter that I would walk to school with, like you did with me.

You, God, and Jesus guide me, mom.

I love you, and I miss you.

    Your Loving Son,

    Scott

    Star Trek

As one who grew up with the TV series (thanks to my brother), I have now seen every single Star Trek movie in the theater. The Good. The Bad. And The Ugly.

Where do I rank this one? Definately Wrath of Khan level. For me, THAT SAYS A LOT.

Besides Khan, this one is very personal.

    Very...personal.

I'm not a major fan of rebooting franchises, because I think Hollywood tends to have too much creative license. However, this movie works for me.

    Simply put for me:

What if the Borg in First Contact actually succeeded in their mission?

What if you find that you are what not you are, but at the same time, you're who you really are underneath?

What if you show your true colors?

What if if things were different, how would it be, and how would it end?

    That's this movie to me.

I cannot wait for the new adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise with Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock,, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Simon Pegg as Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu, and Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov.

    Live Long And Prosper.

    Space...

    The Final Frontier...

These are the voyages of the Starship ENTERPRISE. To seek out  life and strange places.

To boldy go where no human has gone...

    Song Of The Day 5-9-09

This song is dedicated to friends and family who are overseas doing their jobs. This is also a song for my mother.

    Wish You Were Here

    Pink Floyd

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
    blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
    Wish you were here.

    The Loss Of Captain Chaos

    Dom Deluise passed away.

This is mostly for the video clips, especially with The Tonight Show appearance, and The Cannonball Run clips, but Burt Reynolds' touching remarks about the loss of Dom to him personally speaks volumes.

His brilliance an ability to make people laugh out of total selflessness is what I will miss. There's a reason why in the out-takes of The Cannonball Run, Smokey and The Bandit, et al are so hilarious to watch after the movies is the total shameleness of knowing that you messed up a line, and you try to have fun with it.

    Goodbye, Captain Chaos.

    Dunh dunh DUNH!
